EDC earmarks CAD 750 M for Canadian SMEs in oil and gas sector:

 

On February 25, 2016 EDC announced it will make up to CAD 750 M of financial capacity available to Canadian companies to help support the Canadian oil and gas sector (O&G) during this challenging time.

Export Markets for Alberta Energy Business:

 

The U.S. is Alberta's most important export market. In 2012, the U.S. consumed $82.0 billion worth of Alberta's goods, or 86% of total exports. Alberta's exports to Latin America increased 5.1% from $1.9 billion in 2011 to $2.0 billion in 2012.

In January 5, 2016, Minister Chrystia Freeland announced a new program to increase the competitiveness of Canadian companies:

 

CanExport will provide up to $50 million over five years in direct financial support  (SMEs) in Canada seeking to develop new export opportunities.

Collaboration Agreement with CAPIPE

On August 10th, 2016, the CECC (Canadian Energy Chamber of Commerce) and CAPIPE (Cámara Argentina de Proveedores de la Industria Petro-Energética) based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, signed a collaboration agreement.

This collaboration agreement  between both chambers was signed by the President of the CAPIPE, Sergio Echebarrena and Miki Reeder, President of CECC.

CECC opens a New office in Veracruz (Mexico)

CECC opened a new branch office in Veracruz (Mexico) on July 28th, 2016 to provide local area network support services for members. The opening also enable CECC members to market its services and products to Mexican companies in the Energy Industry.

 

“It has been a groundbreaking year for the commercial relationship between Canada and Mexico, and the opening of the CECC’s office demonstrates our commitment to build upon the successes of the past 12 months,” said Luis San Juan (CECC Vice president of Mexico)

 

The Canadian-Mexican relationship has yet to achieve its full potential, which creates a huge opportunity. That’s why the CECC wants to be on the ground, exploring opportunities to collectively grow the business of our members.
